Trade show Wednesday

Spotlight on Skagit, a business-to-business trade show, is set for 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Van Zyverden’s Bulb Warehouse at the Port of Skagit.

The annual event highlights the area’s innovative businesses and features about 80 exhibitors and hundreds of attendees.

Admission is free.

Along with learning about local businesses, Spotlight on Skagit provides the opportunity for attendees to discover and network with companies.

Workshop scheduled

The Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce will hold a Knowledge Know workshop from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chamber offices, 301 W. Kincaid St.

The workshop, titled “Implementing Safety and Health Management Systems in Your Business,” will be presented by Chuck Durham and Walt Kulpa of the state Department of Labor & Industries.

Costs are $10 for chamber members and $15 for nonmembers.

People’s Bank adds VP

People’s Bank has hired Aldi Kllogjeri as vice president and commercial banking officer at the Skagit/Island Commercial Banking Group based at the Burlington office.

Kllogjeri has 18 years of experience in banking with a specialty in commercial real estate, construction, commercial and industrial, and professional services lending.

Born in Albania, Kllogjeri moved to Skagit County as a teenager in 1998. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University.

Anacortes chamber to meet for luncheon

The Anacortes Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Majestic Inn, 419 Commercial Ave.

Burlington chamber luncheon slated

The Burlington Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly membership luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at the Burlington Public Library.

Costs are $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers. An additional $3 will be charged for those who pay at the door.

The guest speaker will be Linda Tyler, the community outreach coordinator at the Port of Skagit.

Chamber sets orientation

The Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce will hold a membership orientation 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at its offices, 301 W. Kincaid St.

Conducting the orientation will be chamber President/CEO Andy Mayer and Business Development and Foundation Director Silvia Reed.

The orientation is for both new and current chamber members.

Mount Vernon chamber luncheon scheduled

The Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Eaglemont Golf Course.

Costs are $18 by April 22 and $20 at the door.

This will be a Biz Buzz Networking Luncheon. Those attending are asked to prepare a one-minute infomercial and bring plenty of business cards.
