Hobbies: Quilting, sewing, stream fishing and maintaining a small orchard.
Best part of living in Skagit County: “I just like that it’s not that crowded. Yet.”
One thing that brightens my day: Sunshine
Interesting fact about me: “I know how to fly an airplane. I’m afraid of heights. I can’t get on a roof, but I can get in an airplane no problem.”
When I was younger, I wanted to be: “I thought I’d be an interior decorator. (But when I was younger) it was the era of glass and metal — minimalist. And I’m a Victorian.”
First job: Waitress at Mr. Steak, a chain steakhouse, in Bellingham.
Best job: Working for Compass Health, where she’s been for almost 25 years. “I love the work, and I love my coworkers. Everyone is really devoted to what they do.”
Person I admire most: ”I think it’s Katharine Hepburn. She was a strong woman, had her own opinions and held her own in Hollywood.”
The world would be a better place: “People just remembering common courtesy and basic decency. The things you learned in kindergarten.”
Biggest pet peeve: “I guess incivility, rudeness. I know I have my moments though.”
