ANACORTES — Anacortes police seek the public’s help in finding an elderly man with dementia who wandered away from his apartment a few days ago.
Neighbors reported Monday that William R. Landers hadn’t been seen around his apartment at the Harbor House on Q Avenue for several days, according to a statement Tuesday from the Anacortes Police Department. Officers searched for him both Monday and Tuesday with no results.
Police searched his apartment, which was empty and did not yield any leads on his whereabouts. It appeared that he had not been taking his medication prescribed to help him manage his dementia, police report.
Landers has not turned up at any of the county hospitals and he doesn’t have a car he can use for transportation. His cellphone has not been used for at least 48 hours.
Police advise anyone who spots Landers to check on his welfare and call 911.
