CONCRETE — One person was killed in a one-vehicle crash early Thursday morning on Highway 20 near First Street in Concrete.

According to a news release from the State Patrol, the driver of a vehicle was heading east at a high rate of speed about 2:30 a.m. and failed to complete a left turn.

The vehicle left the roadway to the right, ran over a curb, and went through a parking lot and into a tree, the release states.

The driver, who has not been identified, died at the scene. An 18-year-old passenger in the car was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
