Global truck manufacturer PACCAR opened its doors Saturday for a behind-the-scenes look at its technical center on Farm to Market Road.
The center provides testing and development for Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF trucks. The 377-acre site employs 450.
At the open house, guests were able to explore the electrical and materials labs, thermal testing, road simulator and more, as well as try hands-on activities.
In the road simulation room, a truck bounced up and down to test performance on any terrain. In another lab, guests got to stick their hands into two different boxes to understand how insulation affects temperature.
