SEDRO-WOOLLEY — A new 10-bed acute rehabilitation center is coming to the PeaceHealth United General Medical Center, according to a news release from the Sedro-Woolley hospital.
The center, which is set to open July 1, will provide inpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy for patients recovering from surgery or who have a severe injury or illness, the release states.
“We are delighted to offer inpatient rehabilitation services to patients in our community,” Chris Johnston, chief administrative officer with the hospital, said in the release. “Patients in need of physical and other therapies after a surgery or stroke will benefit from having these services locally.
A similar facility closed at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham last October.
The release states those who worked at the Bellingham center before it closed will be given priority in applying for jobs at the Sedro-Woolley facility.
