The Skagit Community Foundation is accepting grant requests for 2018.

Requests are being accepted from 501(C)(3) nonprofits serving Skagit County. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1.

In 2017, the foundation awarded about $280,000 in grants and scholarships.

The grants were awarded in the categories of human services, adult education, arts and culture, children and youth, and environment and animal welfare.

Money was also awarded for scholarships and to the Skagit Valley Family YMCA capital campaign.
