Skagit River fishing (copy)

The Skagit River will be closed to recreational fishing Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 10-11, the state Department of Fish & Wildlife announced Monday.

The state previously planned to close the river to recreational fishing Oct. 9-10 to avoid overlapping with tribal fisheries.

Those tribal fisheries were rescheduled for Oct. 10-11, so the state adjusted the recreational closure to match it, according to a news release.

The Skagit River will be closed from the mouth of the river to 200 feet upstream of the Baker River, which meets with the Skagit River near Concrete.
