About 500 people turned out Wednesday night for Spotlight on Skagit, an annual business showcase in Skagit County.

The trade show, hosted by the Economic Development Alliance of Skagit County (EDASC) at the Van Zyverden Bulb Warehouse, drew nearly 60 exhibitors from retail, hospitality, manufacturing, technology, education, finance, agriculture, health care and more.

This is the first time the event had been free. It also featured speakers from innovative local companies, EDASC CEO John Sternlicht said.

This year’s speakers were from electric maritime company LAVLE and aerospace firm VT Volant.

“The purpose is for businesses to introduce themselves to each other and the public,” Sternlicht said.
