A semi-truck fire on Interstate 5 near Starbird Road snarled traffic for several hours Thursday.
The fire was reported about 1 p.m. in the southbound lanes, State Patrol trooper Heather Axtman said.
It is unknown what caused the fire, but the truck was carrying wooden flooring, she said.
The fire spread to the grass on the shoulder, but was quickly contained, she said.
The highway was blocked until about 5:30 p.m., Axtman said. The off-ramp was blocked until about 7:30 p.m.
