July 6, 1946 - February 8, 2021 Donald L. "Don" Schuchard, age 74, passed away Monday, February 8, 2021 in Mount Vernon, WA. He was born to Walter and Esther Schuchard on July 6, 1946 in Everett, WA. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Army from 1967 until 1970. During the service, he was a tractor scrapper operator clearing the ground for an airstrip. Upon his return from the service, he was employed by Weyerhaeuser with his father for 8 years. Moving to Mount Vernon, he owned and operated the Wildlife Tavern besides working various other jobs. He retired from TruckVault following 7 years of employment there. In retirement, Don was able to spend more time fishing and hunting, growing a garden including grapes for making wine, and riding his Harley. He liked woodworking, and created canes, ducks and fishing lures. He is survived by a son Chad, and a daughter Rhonda; a sister Dorene (Carl) Werner; and numerous grand and great- grandkids. Don is also survived by his significant other, Cheryl Minaker of 22 years, and her children; son, Delbert; daughter, Charly Samuelsen; and his dog, Freckles. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Roger and Bob. He was much loved and will be truly missed. Arrangements to remember Don will be at a later date.
