A respectful comic strip

It saddens me to see that only one syndicated comic strip out of 20, “Red and Rover,” in the Memorial Day newspaper acknowledged the reason for this holiday. While standing at his uncle’s grave, Red said, “Happy Memorial Day, Uncle Jimmy. I want you to know how very appreciative I am for your sacrifice. Dad says you and others gave up your futures so I might have mine.”

Thanks to Brian Basset for his respectful comic strip. As my neighbor said, Memorial Day is more than barbecues and mattress sales.
