Johann Stalf, 83, of Camano Island died after a two-car crash that happened around noon Tuesday, Nov. 6, in the Utsalady neighborhood, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Stalf initially was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died on Friday, according to WSP on Friday. The hospital notified his next of kin, the report noted.

Driving a Mercedes-Benz sedan, the man turned from the stop sign on Utsalady Road onto North Camano Drive and failed to yield to a westbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup, according to WSP.

The pickup, driven by a 52-year-old Stanwood man, struck the driver's side of the Mercedes, rolling it into a fence, according to the police report.

The Chevrolet driver was not injured; the Mercedes driver's condition was not available at that time. Both vehicles were totaled. The incident is under investigation.
