La Conner’s Justine Benson averaged 16.6 points a game this season.

La Conner girls’ basketball standout Justine Benson has picked up another postseason honor.

The senior on Wednesday was named to the Associated Press Class 2B All-State first team.

This season, Benson became her school’s all-time leading scorer and led La Conner to a runner-up finish at the Class 2B State Tournament in Spokane

Benson averaged 16.6 points per game, best among Skagit County girls. She became the county’s No. 4 all-time leading scorer and was selected the Skagit Valley Herald Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Burlington-Edison’s high-scoring duo of Jackson Reisner and Wyatt Walker received honorable mention on the boys’ all-state 2A team.

Reisner led the county with 16.3 points per game and was named Skagit Valley Herald Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year; Walker averaged 13.4 points and was named Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association Class 2A Player of the Year.

Louisville-bound Cashmere star Hailey Van Lith, who averaged 34 points and 10 rebounds, was named the Associated Press Girls’ Player of the Year. Mount Si’s Jabe Mullins, who led his team to the Class 4A state title, was named boys’ player of the year.
