Three Mount Vernon players have been named to the All-Western 4A Conference baseball team.

Topping the list with a first-team selection was senior pitcher Reilly Olmsted.

Olmsted had a 1.33 earned-run average and struck out 88 for a Bulldogs team that went 10-13 and qualified for the bi-district tournament.

Mount Vernon’s Erik McGehee, a senior, and junior Skyler Jensen were both honorable-mention selections.

Bulldogs named to first team

The Mount Vernon boys’ soccer team was well represented among the All-Western 4A Conference team.

Senior Marco Quezada was named a first-team forward, while senior Jesus Rodriguez was named a first-team midfielder and senior Jovani Duran a first-team defender.

Quezada led the Bulldogs with seven goals.

Mount Vernon’s Rene Serano, a junior goalkeeper, was also named to the first team.

Junior Luis Rivera and senior Edwin Subias were named to the second team.

Seniors Francisco DeLa Cruz and Jonathan Salazar, and sophomore Bridger Tautvydad were honorable mentions.

Three land on NWC first team

Three Skagit County boys’ soccer players were named to the All-Northwest Conference first team.

Burlington-Edison defender Hernan Moreno, Sedro-Woolley midfielder Brendan Woods and Sedro-Woolley forward Hugo Tartelo earned the honor.

Anacortes defender Luke Rutz was a second-team selection, as was Burlington-Edison midfielder Oscar Ibarra and Burlington-Edison forward Junior Maturana.

Hylback a second-teamer

Mount Vernon senior Madeleine Hylback was named to the Western 4A Conference second team.

Hylback hit .607 with 33 RBI and six home runs for the Bulldogs.
