ANACORTES — The Anacortes softball team rolled to a Northwest Conference victory Tuesday behind a great game by Riley Pirkle.

Pirkle hit two home runs and earned her 12th pitching victory of the season as the Seahawks beat Burlington-Edison 19-4 in a game shortened to four innings by the 15-run rule.

Megan Bellusci was 3-for-4 for the Seahawks (6-0 conference, 12-0 overall) and Emma Fleury had a hit for Burlington-Edison (1-6, 5-8).

Lynden Lions 14, Sedro-Woolley Cubs 1 Five Innings

LYNDEN — Megan Friend had the only RBI for the Cubs (5-2 conference, 8-6 overall), who had trouble getting out of their own way against the Lions in a Northwest Conference loss.

“(Lynden) hit well, but we gave them a lot of opportunities. Seven of their 14 runs were earned,” Cubs coach Amy Beebe said.

Darrington Loggers 16, La Conner Braves 5 Five Innings

LA CONNER — Riley Banaszak hit a double and triple for the Braves, and Karris Drake added an inside-the-park home run for the Braves in the Northwest 2B League game.

La Conner is 0-5 in league and 4-9 overall.

Jackson Timberwovles 16, Mount Vernon Bulldogs 0

MILL CREEK — Natalia Navarro and Sidnee Schuermann each had a single, but the Bulldogs (1-7 Western 4A Conference, 3-11 overall) were shut out.
