The Burlington-Edison boys’ lacrosse team fell to Squalicum 7-6 on April 30 in its regular-season finale.

Still, Burlington-Edison, 8-3 overall, is moving ahead to defend the 1A/2A Division state Washington High School Boys’ Lacrosse Association title it won last season as the Skagit Valley Flyers.

It will open the playoffs at 2 p.m. May 18 against North Kitsap in a game to be played at Sedro-Woolley High School.

Against Squalicum, Aidan Fitzpatrick and Ethan Hill each scored two goals, while goalie Ryan Riggs had 16 saves.

Skagit Valley Flyers win two

The Skagit Valley Flyers Lacrosse Blue Team posted wins Saturday against Edmonds and April 27 against Everett Black.

The Flyers beat Edmonds 16-1 and Everett Black 11-10.

Against Edmonds, Cohen Boyd scored five goals, Dean Eitner four, and Luke Eitner and Kellen Soares two each.

Against Everett Black, Dean Eitner had five goals, Boyd four and Koe Greenough two.

Goalie Kevin Ceradsky had nine saves against Everett Black.
